W hen a family chooses cremation as the choice of deposition for their loved one, they must decide if any public viewing is to be done. Direct cremation does not require embalming. A memorial service can be held with or without the presence of the cremains. However, when the surviving family members desire to do a public viewing prior to the cremation procedure, the use of an alternate memorial casket may be considered.
The cloth covered softwood casket or the solid oak hardwood memorial rental casket are cost effective alternatives. Each of these caskets has the potential to
provide the look of a very professional and dignified public service. The cremains can be placed into an urn of choice or a cemetery niche (burial wall designated specifically for cremations).
